“Summer fading (late love song)” is a love song; but it is not the usual dedication to someone; “Summer fading (late love song)” is a song that questions what love is, and how that feeling is perceived over time, by a person, from childhood to adulthood.

«“Summer fading (late love song)” is a song about time passing, and how this, and the experiences we live, influences us, even in our relationship with that feeling we call “love”; or about falling in love, whatever you want to say. It is "divided" into three parts: in the first, I wonder how a child can interpret that feeling of falling in love, which we hear so much about everywhere, from adults to fiction; in the second part of the song the question is posed from the point of view of an adolescent; in the final part, adulthood arrives».

“WAS THAT LOVE TRUE?”

“Summer fading (late love song)” is a song that changes over time both in the lyrics and in the music, wanting to underline how a person changes over time, and how their relationship with life and with their feelings changes.

«In the first part, the one dedicated to childhood, the arrangement is sparse: dreamy dream pop/shoegaze guitars intertwine in an arpeggio; a cello acts as support; the voice is delicate and feeble, emotional. A disturbing sound, a cacophonous rustle, sweeps everything away, making a clean sweep and giving space to enthralling drums and bass: adolescence has arrived. But the road is still long, to reach the disillusionment of adulthood: the entry of distortions and synths on the bass, the pounding drums, contrasted with an emotional string quartet, establish a new change, as if wanting to tell everything what a man, from boy to adult, can experience in his life, between joys and sorrows. I'm very proud of how I managed to come up with several different arrangements for a song that, all in all, follows the classic verse-chorus-verse structure. I could define “Summer fading (late love song)” as my “Strawberry fields forever”, a song that is always different in the arrangement from verse to verse».

The videoclip for “Summer fading (late love song)” is a crescendo of distorted images starting from a sunrise and ending on a sunset.

«Actually, the sunset we see at the end of the video is simply the sunrise that introduces the video, but in reverse: just as I like to use sounds in reverse in my songs, or in any case working a lot on sound effects, even with images I find it's interesting to experiment. In fact, the video for “Summer fading (late love song)” is composed of a whole series of images distorted in color and saturation, to give a psychedelic touch to everything, as a metaphor of how our memories of the past are necessarily distorted from time and how we live the present. As in the lyrics of the song and in the music, I tried to give a sense of "evolution" in the video too, looking for suitable images that best suited the register changes of the song».

«For the cover of “Summer fading (late love song)” I wanted something that recalled the melancholy of the end of summer, that moment of the year that reminds us how time passes, and that brings with it both the joy of the experiences lived and the remorse for how everything, inexorably, flows away; but I also wanted something that underlined my psychedelic approach to music, hence the choice to reverse the photo, making it alienating».
